Special Projects
BW&A takes on various special projects; our Past assignments provide some examples. Three areas that we are often involved in are shown below.
New business feasibility assessments & planning
New business start-ups, business acquisitions and joint ventures, expansion projects, new product launches: all of these ventures require careful preparation and planning.
An early stage activity – before any commitments are made – should be an assessment of the financial viability of the planned venture. This usually involves making estimates and forecasts, and generating a number of “what-if” scenarios to test the range of possible outcomes from the new venture. It is also the stage when initial estimates are made about the level of the required financial investment to fund the venture. Essentially, it is the initial phase of the business planning process.
Financing proposals / loan applications
Preparing financing proposals or loan applications is usually closely aligned with the process of producing a Business Plan, although the primary focus is different.
The success of a financing proposal/loan application is often very dependent on being able to present to the prospective investor or lender a well-documented business plan, with accompanying financial projections and historical results.
As well as assisting in the creation of the necessary proposals/applications and supporting documents and schedules, we can also attend with our client at the presentations.
Troubleshooting assignments
Some problem situations do not fall specifically within any one of the categories of our services. Typically, the priority in these situations is to uncover the underlying causes of the problem. Our broad industry experience can be very helpful in these situations. As always, we will provide a straightforward and realistic appraisal of the scale of the issues involved, and we will tell you what we can and what we cannot do. On some occasions, we may recommend the involvement of other experts.
We are always ready to discuss this type of assignment. Contact us for a free, no-obligation meeting.
